Gladiator 2, Who Are The Protagonists Of The Sequel
Get ready for Gladiator 2, directed once again by Ridley Scott, and set to hit theaters on November 15. The sequel features a new protagonist, Paul Mescal, playing a Roman nobleman seeking revenge after his family is brutally murdered. This quest for vengeance leads him to the Colosseum, where he becomes a gladiator.
Joining him is Joseph Quinn, known for his roles in Stranger Things and The Fantastic Four. Quinn plays Emperor Caracalla, infamous for his cruelty. The cast also boasts major stars like Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal. Washington takes on the role of the villain, as revealed in previews from CinemaCon and CineEurope, while Pascal plays the protagonist’s godfather.
Other new additions to the cast include May Calamawy from Moon Knight, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah, and Matt Lucas.
Returning from the original Gladiator film, Connie Nielsen reprises her role as Lucilla, Commodus’ older sister and the love interest of Maximus Decimus Meridius. Derek Jacobi also returns as Senator Cracco. Unfortunately, Djimon Hounsou, who played the former gladiator Juba and Maximus’ loyal friend, couldn’t join due to strikes.
